• Peppermint oil—Spiders absolutely hate peppermint oil, and a little bit of this strong-smelling stuff goes a long way. Combine it with water to dilute it and simply spray it around doors and windows to keep spiders out of your home.
• Citrus peels—Because spiders also hate the smell of anything in the citrus family, when you eat oranges, grapefruits or lemons, keep the peels and strategically place them around your home at key points of spider entry. Be sure to discard the peels and replace them with new ones often as the oils in the citrus peel dry up rather quickly.
